Promoting your brand on social media is not as simple as just making posts. You need to do more in order to engage your audience and create a strong presence for your brand. What are some ways to promote your business on social media the right way?

To improve your social media marketing, you should use organized strategies to increase engagement, visibility, and conversions of your followers into customers.

Is social media marketing really worth all the attention it gets? Yes, it is!

Some social media statistics that support the idea of social selling are:

  • 92% of marketers strongly agree that social media plays a key role in their marketing strategy.
  • More than 85% of marketers have witnessed an increase in the visibility and exposure of their businesses through social media.
  • 78% of marketers have reported an increase in their traffic through social media.

1. Identify the right social media channel

It’s easy to get caught up in choosing the right social media platform to work on. To reach your target audience, you should go to the social media platforms where they spend most of their time. To find the golden stage, you will need to probe deeply.

The Pew Research Center has found that Facebook has a significant number of users across every age group. The latest statistics show that the number of monthly active users on Facebook is nearly 2.85 billion. This platform is a great place to start for all types of brands.

If you want to increase brand awareness or generate leads, it is best to use Facebook.

Twitter and LinkedIn would be the best options if you want to increase the size of your network of professionals and people with influence. TikTok and Instagram are better choices if you want to appeal to younger demographics.

The social media channel you select for your social selling campaign should align with your campaign’s objectives.

2. Make the most of live videos

More brands are finding success in engaging their audiences by posting live videos. A Livestream survey found that 80% of audiences prefer watching live videos from a brand over reading the brand’s blog.

Additionally, 67% of people who viewed live videos said they would be more likely to purchase tickets to an event after watching a live video or a similar event.

If you want to improve your social media marketing, adding live videos is a good idea.

You could increase audience engagement by live-streaming open houses, interviews, and behind-the-scenes footage. Use video creation tools to make videos more easily.

3. Use social media marketing tools

Do you want to know how to make sure your audience sees your content? Most marketers use social media marketing tools on a daily basis to establish their presence on social media.

There are a lot of social media marketing tools that can help you do things like schedule posts, analyze your performance, capture leads, engage with customers, and more. You can manage all aspects of marketing smoothly and easily under one roof.

4. Create your brand’s story

The way you present your brand is extremely important in how people will perceive it. Many successful businesses have used storytelling to help market their brand.

If you want your brand to connect with its target audience on an emotional level, stories are always a helpful tool.

Your brand’s story is not only communicated through what you say, but also through the medium you use. Using social media is a great way to share your brand’s story and connect with people.

Intel shares inspirational stories on Instagram of the company and customers. The company posts stories, videos, testimonials, interviews, and fun facts to maintain a high engagement rate.

5. Leverage user-generated content

User-generated content (UGC) is one of the most powerful ways to promote your products or services. Other people’s opinions are more trustworthy than marketing campaigns or the brands’ own claims.

If you want your target audience to trust your brand, then you need to get honest feedback from customers instead of relying on brand claims. When other people vouch for your brand, it helps to build trust with potential customers.

User visuals are more trusted than any other kind of content. Over half of the people surveyed believe that user-generated content is more influential and effective than content created by the brand itself.

Therefore, always provide your customers with a way to boast about their real estate experience with you.

6. Use social-friendly images

Audiences are getting more selective and are rejecting the use of stock images. If you don’t have experience as a designer, how can you create new, exciting images?

A designer may not be a viable option for a startup or small business. There are many tools that can help with this problem, so don’t worry.

There are a number of tools available that can be used to create stunning graphics, including Placeit, Canva, Cello, and Venngage. There are many templates available that can help you get started, depending on your chosen promotion channel and the theme of your post.

When sharing images on social media, you need to take into account the different image sizes required by each platform. In the constant hassle of maintaining multiple client accounts, social media managers often mistakenly publish images that are the wrong size.

7. Save an advanced search for your full name or website

If you go to your notifications tab on Twitter, you’ll see a list of people who have directly mentioned you with your @username. You won’t see the tweets that don’t mention you by name.

In order to respond to these mentions, you will have to locate them. If you want to find out who is talking about you or your company on Twitter, do a quick search for your full name or your company’s name.

If you want to search for an exact phrase on Twitter, type the phrase into the search box and put quotation marks around it.

Click the “Save” link in the top right corner of the results page.

You can save searches on Twitter so that you can easily refer to them later. To do this, click on the search box and then select your saved search from the drop-down list.

8. Track every blog post mention — even the hidden ones, on Twitter

You might want a similar setup of an advanced Twitter search to find blog posts. A search operator like “kevanlee.com” would show Twitter results for all links that originate from the kevanlee.com domain.

If you want to quickly win, have these mentions sent to you in an email digest.

Warble Alerts monitors Twitter for the keywords and phrases you select. This tool will find every instance of your domain being mentioned on Twitter, even if the URL is shortened. This will save you from being mentioned on Twitter without knowing it.

9. Grow your social media audience by following or favoriting everyone who reshares your stuff

This is a win that is easy to achieve and builds upon two of the previous wins. If you can see who is sharing your content, you can follow or favorite them back.

Thanking your audience creates a connection with people who are already interested in what you have to say.

10. Turn your email signature into a social media call-to-action

You can use your inbox to help your social media followers. You can increase your social media following by adding links to your profiles in your signature.

To add a signature in Gmail, click on the gear icon in the top right corner of your inbox and choose Settings. Then, scroll down to the Signature section. The email signature editor can be found about three-quarters of the way down the page.

Type in the message you want to use, format it the way you want it, and make sure the radio button next to the signature box is clicked. Scroll to the bottom of the page then click the ‘Save Changes’ button.

To make your text stand out more, you can click the Text Color icon in the signature editor.

11. Reserve your username on every social network — even the ones you hadn’t considered

Knowem allows brands to find and secure profile names on a large number of social media sites. For $25, Knowem can sign you up for access to 25 different social networking sites, as well as confirm any associated email accounts, upload photos and bio information, and fill in any other required details.

The most expensive plan is $650 and it gives you access to 300 networks.

If you would prefer to do the process yourself, you can use Knowem’s search function to check which networks are still available for your brand name. Now that you have this information, you can go and get these networks for yourself.

13. Can’t find a good image to share from a blog post? Screengrab one

We strongly believe in the power of visual content shared on social media. If a blog post doesn’t have an ideal image to share, we make one by taking a screenshot of part of the article. What we’ve found works best is

  1. blockquotes
  2. ordered lists
  3. short paragraphs
  4. portions of infographics

Screengrab shortcuts:

To take a screenshot of a selected portion of the screen on a Mac, press Cmd+Shift+4. The screenshot will be saved to your desktop.

You can take a screenshot of your whole screen on a PC by pressing the Print Screen key. The screenshot will be saved to your clipboard.

14. Fill in all the blanks on your profile

If someone wants to connect with others in California, it would be beneficial to have their location listed on their profile. If someone has your email, it would make sense for them to find you on social media with that information.

Fill out everything you can (or feel comfortable with).

In order to find your information on Twitter, you will need to go to the Settings tab and then select Profile.

A profile setting you might want to consider is connecting Facebook to Twitter. This could help with recommendations and connections.

You can connect to Facebook without authorizing your tweets to be automatically posted to your Facebook page. When you get to the last step of the authorization process, choose “Not Now” when it asks for permission to post to Facebook. This is what it looks like if you are logged into Facebook but have not given it permission to post.

To enter your page’s information on Facebook, go to the Settings tab > Page Info.

To edit your profile information on Google+, go the the About tab on your profile and click the Edit link on any section.

On LinkedIn, to complete your profile, go to your profile and click the “Complete Your Profile” button at the top of the page.

Conclusion

Making small changes to your social media profiles could result in big changes. There aren’t any shortcuts to better social media marketing, but quick wins like these can help improve your current strategies.
